Each season pairs narrative storytelling from Aaron Mahnke, the creator of Lore, with prominent historian interviews. For 2021, Season 4 follows the trail of one of the most infamous political advisors and religious figures in history: Grigori Rasputin.
Previous seasons have covered the Salem witch trials (S1), the Spiritualist Movement (S2), and Jack the Ripper (S3).

Aaron Mahnke is the creator, host, and producer of Unobscured, as well as founder of Grim & Mild. He has a deep love for anything historical, mysterious, or unusual.
About the Writer
Carl’s education in Boston and Oxford sent him to history’s graveyard to dig up the stories that will let the dead speak.
He’s responsible for the full research for Seasons 1-3, as well as the script writing for Seasons 2-4.
About the Researcher
Sam Alberty hails from the beautifully-frozen forests of Minnesota.
Along with researching the macabre and fantastical for Lore, he’s responsible for the research for Unobscured Season 4.
